Accomplishments
Owned & operated Energy Management business since 1996, focusing on
Energy Code Compliance for commercial buildings, Energy Modeling and Life Cycle
Cost Analyses for public sector projects, Utility Cost Management for
multi-site institutional facilities,
LEED M&V Plan development, LEED Building Commissioning and Work Project Procedure development.
Completed
a 10-month assignment in 2000 preparing technical procedures for electrical
system improvements in a major Puget Sound area data center; i.e., critical
environment.
Served as Project Manager on a Department of Energy studies for the US
Coast Guard, Sitka, Alaska (1997) and National Park Service sites in Kansas
& Nebraska (2001).
As a
utility employee, executed 150 commercial/industrial demand-side management projects in the
Puget Sound region over a 10-year period resulting in electrical energy savings
of 18.1 million kWh/yr. (Approximately
$1.1 million/yr at 1995 ave. commercial rates.)
Received the 1994 Energy Excellence Award from the Association of
Professional Energy Managers, Washington State Chapter, for energy management
work on a new chemistry laboratory at Western Washington University.
Earned a letter of recognition from the governor for my work in the early
80's managing state funded employment programs that required hiring, training
and supervising up to 40 staff.
